Vashon runner places at state competition

Islander Emma Levant won two medals at the state 1A track and field competition, held in Cheney. Wash., just outside Spokane, on May 27 and 28. 

Levant, who attends Charles Wright Academy, was part of a 4x200 relay team that placed third with a time of 1:46.49, and helped her 4x100 team finish in fifth place. Levant also ran the 300-meter hurdles at the competition, but did not advance to the finals.
