Tigers shortstop gives Island Pony baseball players some pointers

The Vashon Pony boys baseball team, and a handful of siblings, received expert instruction when Ramon Santiago, shortstop for the Detroit Tigers, came to work with them last Saturday. Santiago spent more than two hours with the kids coaching them on hitting, bunting, fielding and base running. The Vashon Pony boys, led by Tony Smith, Shasta Smith and Joe Wald, have had an impressive season, winning 21 of 23 games.
