Vashon Pirate Youth Football team to open season Aug. 23

The Vashon Pirate Youth Football team will open its 2008 fall season with a jamboree on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood, Tacoma.

The lightweights — Bud’s Bombers — will play teams from Orting, Eatonville and Lakewood. The heavyweights will play teams from Orting, Eatonville, Life Christian and Lakewood.

League games start on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Look in an upcoming edition of The Beachcomber for a roster of this year’s new Pirate players.
