Golfers tee off in pink ‘for a cure’
The 12th annual “Rally For A Cure” golf tournament held at Vashon Island Golf & Country Club on Friday, Aug. 15, was a huge success, as a full field of 52 players showed up in the signature pink clothing to play and support a great cause.
After the final tally, more than $7,200 was raised to be sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Competition winners included:
Ned Carroll scoring 62 to finish as overall net of the field winner. Par on the 18-hole course is 71 for men and 72 for women.
Womens’ division winners were: Jo Goforth (65), Teresa Bourke (66) and Barbara Steen and Mona Hardy (tied at 68).
Mens’ division winners were: Cliff Eckman (65), Alan Mendel (66) and Tom Bishop, Tom Trigg and Neil Jungemann (tied at 68).
Other prize winners were:

Sadly, nobody won $10,000 for a hole in one on number 5.
Patty Ulman was chair of the event.
