Vashon Ski School is one of Vashon Park District’s most enduring programs and it’s sprucing up for 2009. Open to Islanders between seventh and 12th grades, the winter program has been a mainstay on Vashon for years, taking skiiers and snowboarders to the Summit at Snoqualmie for seven Saturdays each season.

Registration can be done in person only at Vashon Park District’s Ober Park office. The deadline to sign up is this Friday, Dec. 5.

The 2009 season runs January 10, 17, 24, 31 and February 7, 21 and 28.

When registering, ski school participants can select discount packages including:

* the ever-popular Ski School bus

* discounted lift tickets

* ski masters season pass discounts

Additionally, prices are specially discounted for Vashon by at least $50 per package.

Those interested in signing up can access and print out the eight-page Ski School Registration packet at vashonparkdistrict.org under the youth activities section. Call Vashon Park District at 463-9602 for more information.
