At the Oct. 31 cross-country district championship meet, the entire course was muddy and challenging, yet Vashon’s athletes put forth an admirable and successful effort.

Sophomore Tylor Heit and junior Savannah Krug qualified for the state meet on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Pasco.

Heit finished 15th out of 119 competitors in 17 minutes, 18 seconds.

Krug, who completed the course in a season-best time of 20 minutes, 52 seconds, came in 11th place. Krug will be competing in her third consecutive state meet on Saturday.

Seniors Ramsey Walker, Cole Grabow and Dia VanHolde ended their high-school cross-country careers on a high note, putting in stellar performances, said Coach Kevin Ross.
