Last month, 11 doubles tennis teams battled it out in the Vashon Tennis Club’s Winebledon Tennis Tournament. Each team played about 36 games in a round robin tournament. The top eight teams vied for the coveted Winebledon Cup, playing a single elimination tournament one night and concluding the next morning.

The winners of the finals match were Steve Salonen and Ron Irvine, beating a very tough team of Mark Bennion and Jeremy Davidson: 3-6, 7-6, 6-1.

In the consolation category, Janelle Davis and Mike Douvier defeated Bart Queary (the tournament organizer) and Mary Beba.
