Golfers putt for a cause at annual tournament

The 14th annual Rally for a Cure golf tournament was held at Vashon Island Golf & Country Club (VMIGCC) on Friday, July 16. Fifty players participated in the shotgun start tournament.
Thanks to the support of Vashon businesses and individuals, the VIGCC Women’s Club was able to send $7,800 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation this year.
The golfing results were: Overall Low Net of the Field: Mike Kimmel; Women’s Division First Place: Carol Maki, Second Place: Donna Dederer, Third Place: Eileen Buskirk; Men’s Division First Place: Bud Bowers, Second Place: Larry Bain, Third Place: Ralph Hawkins; Women’s and Men’s Closest to the Pin: Sonya Huntington and David Jack; Women’s and Men’s Longest Drives: Carol Maki and John Olson; Women’s and Men’s Straightest Drives: Gigi Jack and Larry Jay.
