Post office has been important to Burton

I am writing to protest the loss of our Burton Post Office in the hope that those responsible will find another nearby location. The post office is an important part of our community in Burton. The post persons make the effort to learn our names and box numbers and often hand us our packages as we enter. This is heartening in our often impersonal world.

We will make more trips now to Vashon polluting the air. We will find it more difficult to practice COVID distancing in the more crowded Vashon facility.

Should we tolerate Trump’s appointee, DeJoy, in his attempt to weaken and privatize our mail?
