I am grateful to Neighborcare for coming to Vashon and trying to make some sense of our health clinic situation. We’ve had many organizations walk away, leaving us in the lurch. Neighborcare, a non-profit, came to Vashon despite the fact that we are neither in their designated service area or stated vision of client base.

In just two years they have managed to set up services and open a clinic in the schools. Yes, there are problems. Both local and senior administrators have demonstrated a willingness to listen and work on them. Running health care is a daily process of problem-solving with patients and systems. I’m willing to give them lots more chances.
