In the wake of yet another terrorist attack by a white nationalist (for once, not within the United States), I am offering an action step to send empathy across borders, to our Muslim brothers and sisters, to bridge a small island to a big island – Vashon to New Zealand.

We are blessed to have a community here on Vashon that supports refugee resettlement, celebrates a diversity of faiths, and welcomes immigrants. To strengthen these collective values, please feel free to stop by Amend Law LLC, next to Café Luna, and sign cards that will be mailed April 1 to the two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

It is difficult to change the heart of a broken human but it is easy to offer love to those suffering from this terrible tragedy.
