Comedy Night returns to the Red Bike on Friday

Vashon’s own funny folks will bring their wit and comedy to the stage at the Red Bike for another evening of mirth at 8 p.m. Friday.

Pearce Cobarr will headline the show hosted by Whiskey Jim, deejay of the KVSH “Whiskey Hour Radio Program.” The local humorists and comedians appearing with fresh material will include Elise Morrill, Chris Austin, Jim Farrell, Richard Moore and Kevin Kim-Murphy.

Cobarr, who self-identifies as “the world’s laziest comic,” performs mostly off the rock in Seattle. Describing Friday night’s show, Cobarr said, “A year ago, our island was in shock and mourning. Last time we checked, the constant barrage of synapses telling us ‘It can’t possibly get worse’ are still in overdrive. Our nation, our region, our island needs every laugh we can get. And by golly,Friday’s line up of the island’s most beloved comics (or at least those who could show up) is just the group to do it.”

While the show starts at 8 p.m., organizers recommend arriving due to the popularity of the event. There will be an $8 cover charge.

The show is open to all ages until 11 p.m., then ages 21 and older only. The show will include adult content, however, so parents should use discretion if bringing children.
