Local comics act up at the Red Bike

An all-Island team of comedians is out to tickle Vashon’s funnybone during a night of comedy slated for 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi.

The comedy showcase will be hosted by well-known local performer and impressario Steffon Moody, who has organized several evenings of comedy on Vashon.

Last year, Moody brought a bill of professional comedians to the Bike, but this time, he said he’s sticking with what Islanders like best — local heros.

“The local comedians that perform at the extravaganzas bring their own audience and make fun of stuff on the island, and the result is a packed house that is having a great time,” he said.

The evening’s roster includes Per-Lars Blomgren, Darryl Caldwell, Katherine Daves, Jim Farrell, Jeff Hoyt, Troy Kindred and Andy Royer.

According to Moody, the performers are some of the funniest folks on Vashon.

“So come out and laugh at, and with, your neighbors,” he urged.

The show is for ages 21 and old, and there is a $5 cover charge.
