Longtime island band plays Friday at the Bike

The all-island High and Lonesome Band will play a show at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Red Bike. The band is a group of friends who’ve played together for nearly 30 years. They’ve been together so long that some original members have now been replaced by their children. With roots firmly planted in American ethnic music, the band blends bluegrass, blues and Bakersfield-style country music — with John Schubert on guitar and vocals, Tab Tabscott on dobro and pedal steel, Jamie Blair on banjo, Pete Martin on fiddle and mandolin and Al Hutteball on upright bass.

The no cover show is open to all ages until 11 p.m., then ages 21 and older only.
