Musicians bring holiday cheer to Snapdragon Café

Alessandra Rose and James Lanman will unwrap both familiar holiday songs, with a few surprising twists.

Two accomplished musicians, Alessandra Rose and James Lanman, will present a night of holiday classic songs, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, on Snapdragon Café’s Black Cat Cabaret Stage.

The show, presented by islander Debra Heesch, will come complete with lights, flocked trees and plenty of sparkles.

According to Heesch, the duo has long been inspired to team up for a holiday show together — and for their show at Snapdragon, Rose and Lanman have crafted a performance that islanders will remember for years.

Rose, whose home base is Bremerton, Washington, has performed and recorded in genres including rock, pop, and jazz. After departing the Seattle rock band, The Kindness Kind, she has enjoyed exploring jazz vocals with rock-pop instrumentation.

Lanman is a California-born singer-songwriter with a retro sound heavily rooted in jazz, folk, and neo-soul. Spending a number of years touring his original music across the US and Canada while living on the road, Lanman has performed in both intimate and larger venues across North America.

With a long career spanning more than 15 years, Lanman has graced stages such as the Fargodome in North Dakota, small screens starring as a singing insurance agent on Scandinavian television, and festivals in the US ranging from CMJ, in New York, to SXSW, in Austin.

Together, the two will unwrap both familiar holiday songs, with a few surprising twists.

The show has a suggested donation of $10, at the door.
