Publish The Quest, a popular band with deep Vashon roots, will play the next Concerts in the Park show from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

The band, with frontman Jacob Bain, has made a name for itself worldwide as both a musical and philanthropic force. While African rhythms set the pulse of Publish the Quest’s blend of electric hip-hop pop, Southeast Asia has shaped the band’s lyrics and perspective. “Don’t Point That Gun at Me” and “You Never Know Who You’re Gonna Meet” recount actual experiences Bain had in Thailand and Burma that speak to his quote asking “for peace to extend the love, to build it up again, to take a stand—and if there are problems, to solve them.”
