Island photographer Marla Smith will exhibit “A Sparkle In Their Eyes,” portraits of children, at Café Luna. The show will kick off Café Luna’s fundraiser for Backpack Pantry, which sends children home with nutritious food over the weekends during the school year.

Giraffe will show pillows and purses made from hand-woven textiles and designed by ReGenr8.

Heron’s Nest Gallery will show “Tendering Balance: Collaborative Work,” by Tom Northington and Mary Rothermel.

PSCCU will show photography by Jeaneen Bauer and Nina V. Serebryakov’s hand embroidery. Emi Ostrom, who has a master’s degree in vocal work from the University of York in northern England, will sing folk and jazz music.

Raven’s Nest Gallery will exhibit new silver-engraved jewelry by Tlingit artist Israel Shotridge plus fur and beaded work by Autumn Shotridge.

SAW will feature potter Stephanie Marotta, who produces mostly wheel-thrown functional ware. She is influenced by traditional colonial crafts.

Kristen Reitz-Green’s paintings will be shown at SPOKE.

Steffon Moody will exhibit 40 plein air oil paintings in his show, “Land &Seascapes of the Pacific Northwest,” at The Hardware Store Restaurant. The paintings feature scenes from Vashon Island, Leavenworth’s Icicle Creek and the Methow Valley. Moody seeks to capture the reverence he has for these places.

VALISE Gallery will show work by three artists, Lin Holley, Lori Duckstein and Denise Synder, in a show called “Art Inspired by Architecture.”

A new exhibit at the Vashon Heritage Museum about the hidden history of Ellisport, one of Vashon’s oldest communities, will open on Friday.

Vashon Intuitive Arts will present “Images of Spring Collective,” a mixed-media show.

East meets West in the VCA Koch Gallery’s April show, featuring Leo Adams and Mark Bentley. Although from different sides of the state, both artists are inspired by the objects they collect and their reverence for nature.

Vashon Artists in the School will show student work by Chautauqua third graders at the Blue Heron Education Center gallery. Artist Britt Freda worked with students to address a collective topic with Action Network.
