VCA art auction includes signature experiences

Vashon Center for the Arts’ 2017 Art Auction, “Swing Time at VCA” — held on Friday and Saturday — will offer a chance to bid on a variety of adventures and experiences in addition to more than 150 pieces of art.

Among the offerings is a seven-day Vespa scooter tour of Italy’s scenic Chianti countryside, with visits to wineries and cooking schools and lodging at a four-star hotel. Other experiences will include two VIP tickets to the musical “Hamilton” in New York City and three nights’ luxury accommodations at a condominium overlooking Lincoln Center; a guided e-bike tour of the island with visits to wineries and a picnic at the Krogman farm; dinner at Julie Speidel’s studio and dinner at Andrew Will Winery among other specialty packages.

Jeff Hoyt will emcee both evenings. Auctioneers are Kevin Joyce on Friday and Andrew McMasters on Saturday. Swing dancers Ben White and Ariel Goh will perform both evenings, and dinner will be served by Herban Feast with cocktails by Seattle Distillery. Proceeds from the auction go toward scholarships for arts participants of all ages.

“We have stunning experiences that speak to the generosity and sense of community that is Vashon,” said Kevin Hoffberg, 2017 auction chairperson.

Tickets are $55 person/$550 table for Friday and $125 person/$1250 table for Saturday and are sold at vashoncenterforthearts.org.
