Vashon’s Threshold Choir will present a “Community Sound Bath” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Vashon Intuitive Arts. The event is aimed at those who need the gift of calm, healing a capella lullaby harmonies. Donations will be accepted, but not necessary, for the experience.

FILM RAISES FUNDS

Jim Henson’s classic, “The Dark Crystal,” will have a free screening at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Vashon Theatre. The show is presented by RJ’s Kids and the Vashon Park Stewards as a fundraiser for improvements and repairs at the Burton Action Recreation Center (BARC). Raffle tickets will be sold by donation. “The Dark Crystal” is a high-concept fantasy adventure film, telling the story of birdlike lizards, gnomish dragons and an elf-like hero named Jen.

PATSY CLINE FETED

“Sweet Dreams,” a tribute concert in honor of country music queen Patsy Cline, will take place at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Vashon Center for the Arts. The show — annually produced by islander Debra Heesch at Seattle’s Triple Door — is being brought back to Vashon after a successful presentation at VCA in 2016. The concert will include singers V. Contreras, Star Anna, Jennifer Hopper, Jessica Lynne and Kate Voss, plus a special surprise guest. Band members include Seattle Country steel guitar god Dave Harmonson and other well-known players.
