Anchor on Vashon – a renovated espresso stand located in Vashon’s town core and known for its smoothies, coffee and oatmeal – has new owners and will reopen in a new location this fall. In anticipation of the move, the business is currently closed.

Anchor on Vashon, which was opened by business partners Elijah Berry and Steven Brewer in February, has been purchased by husband and wife duo, Nick and Sarah Maier, of the Vashon Athletic Club (VAC). The Maiers plan to move Anchor to VAC, while also adding a drive-through and outdoor seating for the business.

Nick described Anchor’s concept as “a good fit” for VAC and said he is eager to further expand his fitness business by adding healthy food and beverage options for members and the public. The Maiers also plan to rebrand Anchor once it moves to VAC — renaming the business and adding menu options including full-service espresso. But many of the current menu items will be kept, they said.

“We love what [Steven’s] done,” said Sarah.
