Kiwanis sells calendars

Vashon Kiwanis members are beginning to sell 2009 community participation calendars.

Proceeds from calendar sales go into the Kiwanis Community Fund, which grants from $4,000 to $6,000 a year to individuals and Island groups. Joyce Smith is co-chair of the Calendar committee.

The Kiwanis Community Calendar is an appointment calendar that also lists relatives’ birthdays, meetings of community groups and selected business and emergency numbers. The calendar has been sold as a community unity effort for some 20 years.

Kiwanis members will be contacting families and community groups through August for participation. Calendars cost $10 for a household, $15 for a nonprofit group and $50 for a business or professional categorized listing.
