Bank Road safety meeting

In response to requests from Bank Road residents, the community council’s public safety committee will meet at 10 a.m Friday, Jan. 4, at Courthouse Square to consider safety issues on and beside Bank Road.

“Beside being the main route from town to the recycling center, Bank Road carries a lot of traffic to and from the west side of the Island,” said Jennie Hodgson, public safety committee chair. “In addition to vehicle traffic, there are many pedestrians and cyclists as well as equestrians using the shoulder.”

Islanders who live along Bank Road or travel it frequently and have thoughts to offer but cannot attend the meeting may call or e-mail Jennie Hodgson at 463-5408 or jollyoctopus@comcast.net.

Please make checks to Vashon VFW Post 2826, and send the contribution to Veterans of Foreign Wars, P.O. Box 162, Vashon, WA 98070.
