NAMI Support Group
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Friends and Family Support Group will meet in person at the Vashon Presbyterian Church 17708 Vashon Highway SW, and also on Zoom, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1.

This support group meets monthly and is intended to be of help to our friends and neighbors who have a loved one in their life with a mental health condition.

Land Acknowledgment
The Equity, Social Justice and Inclusion Committee (an advisory committee of the Vashon-Maury Community Council) is seeking wide input into the creation of a Land Acknowledgement statement for potential use by the Council. Upcoming Zoom meetings on this subject will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 and Dec. 6. Links to attend the meetings can be found at v-mcc.org/event. Santa to Visit Point Robinson Open House
The Keepers of Point Robinson and Vashon Park District will welcome islanders to its annual open house at Point Robinson Light Station, from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Santa will arrive at 1:30 p.m. to greet kids of all ages, and visitors can tour the lighthouse with docent Captain Joe Wubbold, U.S.C.G. (ret.), and enjoy light appetizers, sugary treats, and seasonal music in Quarters A. The Ship’s Store will be open to sate those with nautical-themed gift needs.
Health Insurance and Services
Need health insurance? Sign up in person for American Health Care (ACA) health insurance in 2023, from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Vashon Library. At the same event, King County staffer Miguel Urquiza will also help islanders sign up for Orca Lift cards and food stamps. Can’t make this date?
