sheriff’s report

Red Bicycle stabbing

King County sheriffs were dispatched to the Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi front entrance at 1:12 a.m. Sunday, June 15. A white male Islander, 43, had been stabbed in the left wrist. He was standing outside the bar with a bloody paper towel covering his wound, according to King County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson John Urquhart.

The victim had been drinking with friends and the suspect, whom he did not know. After an argument, the suspect pulled a double-bladed knife, stabbed the victim and fled the bar.

The sheriff’s department brought a helicopter to the vicinity to search for the “suspect on the loose,” Urquhart said, but ultimately apprehended him inside his mother’s home at 3:35 a.m. The 23-year-old suspect, a white male Islander, was booked into King County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault. The victim was treated for injury at the scene and released.
