King County Sheriff’s Deputies found a deceased person in a car parked in the Mom’s Deli parking lot the afternoon of Wednesday, April 30.

Deputies were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. to a welfare check on that person, who was unresponsive in their vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. The person in the vehicle was found to be dead.

The person was moved from the front seat of the car, based on witness accounts given to The Beachcomber.

The King Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene to continue the investigation, and will likely release the identity and cause and manner of death of the person soon.

The incident, which occurred in a public location, prompted questions and discussions on Vashon social media channels.
