Vashon Green School students did a banner action at the north end ferry dock, on May 18, in solidarity with a coalition of organizations doing actions for Endangered Species Day.
Partnering with Vashon’s Backbone Campaign, the students brought attention to endangered salmon and orcas of the Pacific Northwest with banners. Students also handed out cards to folks waiting in a long line for the ferry, with the phone number for the White House.
They talked to over 80 people waiting in the ferry line and encouraged them to call the White House with a message to breach the Lower Snake River dams in order to restore salmon and orca populations.
