The Beachcomber will switch to mail delivery | UPDATED

The switch to mail delivery, first announced to start on Thursday, June 2, has now been delayed.

Starting soon, the print edition of The Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber will be delivered by mail instead of by newspaper carriers. Many of Sound Publishing’s newspapers have recently switched to mail delivery in order to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

“We are so grateful to our drivers who have faithfully delivered The Beachcomber for many years,” said Publisher Daralyn Anderson. “We couldn’t have done this without them.”

The first day of mail delivery has not been set. If you need to update your address with The Beachcomber, please contact circulation@vashonbeachcomber.com.

Subscribers are urged to tip their drivers in advance of Wednesday, May 25.

Correction: This story, which first appeared in the May 19 issue of the paper, has been updated here to reflect the date of The Beachcomber’s switch to mail delivery has been delayed, due to contractual issues between Sound Publishing and the United States Postal Service. We will update the community as soon as we learn more.
