Both of the island’s outdoor pool’s are slated to open Memorial Day weekend for the season.

The Vashon Pool and the Vashon Golf &Swim Club will open on Saturday.

The Vashon Pool is open to the public for lessons as well as open, lap and family swims. It will be open weekends only through June 25 and then open daily.

In addition to its regular lessons, the Vashon Pool is offering lessons this year for anyone who cannot swim and who might not feel comfortable or be able to afford tradition group lessons, which are typically for children. Called Swim for All, the program will offer lessons every Saturday and Sunday morning on a drop-in basis for $8.40 per lesson, with financial aid available.

The Vashon Golf and Swim Club requires a membership for use of the pool, except for its swimming lessons, which are open to the public. Lessons will begin on July 10 in the evenings and mornings for children and youth from age 3 through the Junior Lifesaving level.
