Janice passed away from complications after breaking her hip in November. Her family felt blessed to be able to hold her hands and spend the last day of her life by her side.

Janice and her husband, Harry, moved to Vashon, in 2005, to be close to her family. She enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center and taking water aerobics classes at the Vashon Athletic Club.

They moved to Bridge Park Retirement community in 2013. She was delighted about going to the dining room for their meals and socializing with her many friends. She became an “ambassador” to help welcome new residents. She played bingo and enjoyed many outings, especially trips to a casino. She loved getting dressed up in nice clothes with matching jewelry, shoes and purse and, in recent years, she started adding a matching bow in her hair.

She is survived by her husband, Harry, her son, Mark Schwartz and his wife, Charlene, her daughter Leslie Young, her husband Galen and grandsons, Zach and Will.

The family had a small celebration of life on February 19th.
