Rudolph Erickson

Rudolph “Rudy” Alexander Erickson, formerly of Vashon, died Jan. 11, 2002. He was 93 years old.

He was born July 5, 1908, in Kenosha, Wisc.

He attended high school in Kenosha, where in 1927 he joined the engineering staff of a local radio station.

Over a period of years, he worked for stations in the central states. He eventually became a staff member of KIRO.

For 16 years, previous to retirement in 1974, he was employed on the engineering staff of KOMO. He lived and worked on Vashon during that time. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for more than 60 years.

His wife, Emma, died earlier.

Survivors include a son, Gene Erickson and his wife Delores, and daughter Shirley Bullock and her husband Bob, and grandchildren Scott and Dale Moore, Dan Erickson, Sally Byard, Jeannie Eggelraten and Gail Rolfe, and 12 great grandchildren.

Services were held on Jan. 26 at the Bleitz Funeral Home.
