Sandra Herring, formerly of Vashon Island, died Oct. 20, 2003, at her home in Spanaway. She was 59 years old.

She was born May 11, 1944, in Medford, Ore.

Mrs. Herring had lived on Vashon for two years and had worked as a night aide for five years at the Vashon Community Care Centers.

Survivors include sons Troy Crunk, Allen Swim and Ray Swim, all of Phoenix, and daughters Nancy Glasmann of Phoenix, Lynette Willers of Vashon, Andrea Caruso in Spanaway and Daphne Herring of Phoenix.

Additional survivors are brothers Ronnie McGee of California, Lee McGee of Yelm, half brothers Neal Pate and John Florea, and step brother John McGee. Her sister Tanya Neeley, step sister Nancy Stuck, 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive her.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Vashon Community Care Center.It will be a dessert potluck.
