Our mother Sindy Jo Rice joined Jesus on October 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 7, 1951, to Freeman and Joanne Rice in Pasco, Washington.

In 1961, the Rice family moved to Vashon Island, where they became active members of the Lutheran Church. Sindy remained a faithful part of that church community throughout her life, finding lasting friendships and deep spiritual roots there.

Sindy dedicated 42 years to K2 Ski Corporation, spending most of her career in the human resource department. Her work meant a great deal to her, not only for the role she played but for the people she served alongside. Her K2 family held a special place in her heart, and she often spoke with warmth and gratitude about her years there.

Sindy’s life was anchored in love and hard work. She gave her all to provide for her family and set an enduring example of strength, care, and perseverance.

Her greatest joy came from her daughters, Heather and Erika, and her six grandchildren, Julia, Evan, Martin, Laura, Katherine, and Gloria, who filled her life with laughter and purpose.

Sindy is survived by her mother, Joanne Bucholz; her siblings, Daniel Rice, Martin Rice, Eric Rice, Allyson Kramer, and Dana Rice; her daughters, Heather Erickson and Erika Ellison; and her six grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial service and reception will be held at Vashon Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 25.
