Married to Bea for 62 years

Children: Kaia, Karsten and Rolf

Grandchildren: Sasha, Andreas, Ava and Katje (deceased).

Tom graduated from Vashon High School in 1946 and from Washington State University in 1951. He received Master of Arts in Education in 1958 from the University of Washington and a Master of Arts in English in 1967 from the University of Oregon.

Fulbright teacher in Holland 1960 – 1961.

U. S. Army: Served in Korea 1951 – 1952.

English teacher: Seattle Public Schools 42 years.
