Thank you to The Beachcomber for publishing the recent article on green burial and our search for Vashon property for a green cemetery (“Local ‘green burial’ cemetery under consideration,” Feb. 6).

The King County Cemetery District, Island Funeral Services and the small group working on this project are all in agreement that Vashon needs this burial option. I have spoken with many people in our community who are excited to see the possibilities and hopeful it will happen in their lifetime. The first thing that was needed was a plan and King County interest — we have those, now we need property.
