Youth football coaches sought

Vashon Pirates Youth Football is seeking three volunteer coaches for its third- and fourth-grade team. Coaches will be rewarded with pizza at coaches’ meetings.

Practice begins from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 28. Practice is every Monday through Friday at the VHS practice fields. Contact Coach Paul Wallrof — this year’s grand marshal and a mayoral candidate — at 567-4073 or Matt Amundsen at 567-5163.

Adult softball meeting

There is a mandatory manager meeting for the co-ed adult softball league at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Ober Park.

Each of the nine teams must have a representative present.

The league is close to being suspended for the season because of alcohol consumption at Agren Park.
