Herbert Earle Munsey

Herbert Earle Munsey, Jr. passed away November 9, 2015, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 71. He was born to Herbert Earle Munsey, Sr. and Ruth Willard Munsey Maheux on November 24, 1943. Herb graduated from Laconia High School in New Hampshire, class of 1961, and resided in Gilmanton, New Hampshire, until he entered the U.S. Army in July of 1962. He was in the Army until 1968, having completed his basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey, following which he was stationed at the Nike Site on Vashon Island, through Fort Lewis. He served in Vietnam for one year.
As a teenager, Herb was a drummer in a local Laconia band and, after moving to Washington state, he was the drummer for London Flu and Judd Creek on Vashon Island for many years.
On July 11, 1981, Herb married Karen Jared Branom in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. He worked for NCR, Varityper, Pony Express, and Electrolux and retired as a building maintenance manager in 2005. He was a very proud lifetime member of VFW Post 1435 in the Spokane Valley.
Herb was preceded in death by his grandparents, Israel and Georgie Willard and John and Julia Munsey, his brother, Gary Munsey, sister Martha Munsey Sorensen, and his father-in-law, Cecil R. Jared.
He is survived by Karen Jared Munsey, sons James Munsey and Jeff
Munsey (Ryoko), Jared Branom (Phaedra), Todd Munsey, Jennifer Branom Bates (Ryan) and siblings Marjorie Couture, Jane Gove, Julia Munsey Swain,
Steven Munsey, nine grandchildren and two great-granddaughters expected December 4, 2015.
