Howard A. Buskirk

Howard died peacefully in his sleep at Island Elder Care early on Christmas morning due to complications of Alzheimer’s. He was born on October 9, 1921 to Robert and Florence Buskirk in Martin’s Creek Pennsylvania.

After serving in the Army during World War II, Howard returned to marry Clara Bush of Bangor, PA and they moved to New Jersey. They lived there for fifty years before retiring to Vashon Island.

Howard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Clara, a son Daniel of New York City, daughter Eileen (John) of Vashon, grandchildren Ashley, Angie, and Kirk, and great-granddaughter Jade Noelle. His many friends at the Golf Club will remember his love of the game, and while there will be no memorial service, Eileen says she will buy anyone with a “funny Howard” story a drink at the Club.
