LETTER: Protests necessary to ensure Trump, his policies are not normalized

In response to Ciely Daly’s letter (“Protests are not helping to convey needed message of unity, critical now,” Nov. 23), I would like to respectfully disagree. Anger and outrage are actually the appropriate responses to the madness that is unfolding in this country. I was elated to see our young people in peaceful protest recently. The only thing more dangerous than Donald Trump is normalizing Donald Trump.
When it comes to “reacting to policies that undermine the true greatness of this nation,” Daly advises “compromise where you can, but where you can’t, don’t.” Well, I can’t compromise with a man who thinks it’s okay to grab women by their vaginas. No, this sorry excuse for a man, who thinks women are nothing more than various grades of meat put on this earth for his pleasure, is not my president.
I will do everything I can in the next four years to try and prevent this kind of abomination from ever happening again, but make no mistake, he is not my president.
