Scene & Heard: Vashon celebrates Pride

The community descended upon the Vashon Theatre parking lot on Friday evening, June 17, for a multi-generational Show Your Pride Dance.
The dance, presented by the DOVE Project, the Vashon Senior Center, Vashon Island High School Queer Spectrum Alliance and the McMurray Middle School Gay-Straight Alliance, included treats, a selfie station with a cardboard cutout Dolly Parton, and drag performers in attendance.
An estimated 200 people attended the dance, according to event organizers.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the DOVE Project in its work to build a safer and stronger community.
