About two dozen demonstrators, organized by the Creative Resistance Action Brigade on Vashon, performed a “Theater of Grief” for children killed in Gaza during the June 6 First Friday street closure in Vashon Town. Demonstrators, wearing black and carrying white shrouds symbolizing the estimated 15,000 children killed amid Israel’s strikes in the region, walked solemnly through town to the slow beating of a drum. They stopped periodically to fall to the ground together as a portable speaker played the sound of bomb-dropping aircraft. (Alex Bruell photo)
