Bradley B. Jones, age 72, passed away on March 20, 2026, in Tacoma, WA.
Born in Kansas City, MO, to Edward and Jean Jones, Brad remained a “KC boy” at heart, with a lifelong love for BBQ and his childhood friends from Harrisonville, MO. A proud Jayhawk, Brad graduated from the University of Kansas (1976) and Seattle University School of Law (1979). He practiced law in the Seattle area until 2020. Beyond his career, Brad was a passionate advocate for social justice and progressive causes.
He spent many years on Vashon Island raising his children alongside his former spouse and dear friend, Carol Fluharty Jones. He was a dedicated father and never missed an opportunity to support his kids, and served as their greatest advocate and friend through every stage of their lives. He cherished his time on the Island and the many friends he made there.
Brad was a vibrant soul with an encyclopedic memory for sports and a legendary record collection. He had a joyful and carefree spirit, and was known to break into an air guitar solo at any moment. He was an avid traveler, loved history, art and film and was happiest on the open road with his dog, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stephen.
Brad is survived by his children, Anna and Nathan; former spouse and dear friend, Carol Fluharty Jones; sister, Pamela Spinelli; and a large, loving extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foundation for Melanoma Research, Rett Syndrome Foundation, or Old Dog Haven.
