Dorothe “Dottie” Arvine

Published December 16, 2008

At 86 years young, Mom has ended her journey. On December 16 she passed away at her home on Vashon. She was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1994. They were residents of Vashon for more than 60 years, living most of those years in Paradise Valley.

She was very active in the Sportsman’s Club Auxiliary, and archery was a passion of hers. She worked outside the home at Dr. Oliver’s, as his dental assistant and later at Williams Heating as office manager for many years.

Family members include her two daughters: Pam (Ed) Konsmo in Puyallup, Robin (Carl) Fredrickson on Vashon, and one son: Kelly (Kath) Arvine on Harstine Island, as well as four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are her sister Inez Larson, in Colorado and Alice and Bill Evans (sister-in-law and brother-in-law) plus several nieces and nephews. Two very special “almost family” members are Ron and Bonnie Raume who kept us well fed throughout Mom’s illness. Mom was a friend to many.

At Mom’s request there will be no services. We’d like to sincerely thank the Providence Hospice Staff (Kathy, Annie, Robyn and Chris) for their love, support, and caring. Also a thank you for the kindness and compassion given by the caregivers we called upon for the hours of caring in Mom’s home. Thanks to Connie, Anne, Jennifer and Pat.

The family would like to recommend remembrances be sent to: Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Ave. N., Suite 300, Seattle, WA 98109-5452.
