Robert A. (Bob) Slater

Robert A. (Bob) Slater died Sept. 6, 2006, at Vashon Community Care Center. He was 71 years old.

Mr. Slater was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Totowa Borough, N.J. He had been a Vashon resident since 1980.

Mr. Slater is survived by his spouse of 34 years Chuck Kermes; daughters Melissa, Ellen and Kelly Slater; granddaughters Taressa, Cecelia and Adrianna Farrell and great-grandson Brayden Dunlap.

A celebration of Mr. Slater’s life and a reception will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 15420 Vashon Highway S.W.

The family would like to express its gratitude to Vashon Health Center, Vashon Island Fire & Rescue, Vashon Community Care Center and the Church of the Holy Spirit for their care and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the above groups.
