Adults and kids making music together

A new island nonprofit, Vashon Choral Boosters, helped to arrange for a joint performance by choirs from Chatauqua and McMurray at a recent concert of the Vashon Island Chorale. The boosters have additional plans to launch a youth chorus program as well as continue to support extracurricular programs at Chautauqua and McMurray.

Holly Boaz is the president of the boosters, which has been working for over a year to get choral programs established for Vashon youth, as there has not been any regular choir singing opportunity for kids on Vashon for more than a decade. She said the boosters are hoping to change that.
