Norman Didricksen

He was the eldest of four sons, all raised on Vashon.

On Thursday, November 29, 2018, Norman Arthur Didricksen, age 63, passed away in Anchorage, Alaska, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Norm was born March 21, 1955, to Arthur N. and Rosemary (Ofdenkamp) Didricksen. He was the eldest of four sons, all raised on Vashon. Norm graduated from Vashon High School in 1974. In 1977 he married Karla Plancich, and they had a daughter, Kristina. After their divorce, Norm moved to Alaska, where he enjoyed his passions of fishing and hunting. He married his wife Betty in 1993, and they made their home in Anchorage.

Norm was preceded in death by his father, Art Didricksen. He is survived by his wife, Betty Didricksen (Anchorage, AK), his daughter Kristina Didricksen (Port Orchard, WA), step-children Michael Ervin, Melissa Papsadora, Bruce Ervin, Travis Ervin, and Rebecca Ervin (all of Alaska), and several grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Rosemary Didricksen (Vashon), and brothers Jim (Sandy) Didricksen (Ellensburg, WA), Duane (Julie) Didricksen (Vashon), and Dennis (Annie Dublin) Didricksen (Vashon), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. We will miss his great stories of his Alaskan adventures, and his sense of humor.

A service is being held in Anchorage, and another private memorial for family will be held on Vashon at a later date.
