Annual series gives islanders first look at new plays

Vashon Repertory Theatre (VRT) will celebrate Northwest women playwrights in early March.

Vashon High School coaches and brothers Anders and Per Lars Blomgren are now in their 25th year coaching Vashon wrestling. The team competes this week at the Washington State XXXVI Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome.

In a recent exercise, six groups of Vashon CERT volunteers like this one traveled predetermined assessment routes. Within an hour, the CERT teams had noted the status of critical locations all over the island ‒‒ everything from ferry docks to grocery stores to schools to radio towers.
