17th Annual Low Tide Celebration: This beloved Vashon Park District event, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Point Robinson Park, includes beach walks with Vashon naturalists, tours of the historic Point Robinson Lighthouse, story time and activities for children, beach clean-up with Zero Waste Vashon, paddle-boarding over eel grass with paddle boards and aqua-viewers and much more. Food and beverages will be provided by local vendors. A free shuttle bus runs along Pt. Robinson Road to the lower parking lot, with the first bus at 10:30 a.m. and the last bus at 3 p.m.
Youth sports camp: Vashon Baseball Academy and Vashon Basketball Club will host a three-day dual youth basketball and softball summer camp from July 15-17 for girls in grades one through six. Registration is $100 per camp or $175 for both camps. Equipment will be available for use during the camp, but attendees should bring a water bottle, backpack and small snack. For more information, email Robin Magonegil at magonegil@gmail.com or Tess Carman at carmantess12@gmail.com.
Garden visits: Three island gardens will be open to visitors on Sunday, June 29 through the Open Days program of The Garden Conservancy, a national garden nonprofit. Visitors will be able to tour the Carhart, Froggsong and Halstead/Robinson Gardens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, or $5 for members of the conservancy; children 12 and under can enter free with a parent. Learn more at gardenconservancy.org/opendays. (This event is unrelated to Vashon Center for the Arts’ 2025 Vashon Garden Tour, which concluded last weekend.)
