State commission seeks ferry riders’ opinions

Members of the Ferry Riders Opinion Group (FROG), open to anyone who cares to join, will have an opportunity to share their views about Washington State Ferries in mid-April.

Members of the Ferry Riders Opinion Group (FROG), open to anyone who cares to join, will have an opportunity to share their views about Washington State Ferries in mid-April.

The Washington State Transportation Commission is launching its biennial ferry rider survey and encourages the public to participate. The survey is conducted online and will be emailed to all members of the FROG. To join the FROG panel, visit  the opinion group’s website.

The FROG survey panel was created in 2009 as a way to actively engage ferry riders and those interested in ferries on an ongoing basis. There are currently more than 6,000 FROG participants, according to the state transportation commission.

Members of the opinion group have the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns on a variety of ferry topics via several online surveys throughout the year. Results of all surveys are reported to the state Legislature and state decision makers, including Washington State Ferries.

Participation in the research is voluntary, and individual survey responses are kept confidential and are only used for statistical purposes, the state transportation commission says.

The commission encourages all ferry riders, as well as others interested in ferries, to join the opinion group and play an active role in WSF’s future.

For more information on the opinion group and past surveys, visit the state transportation commission’s FROG survey website.
