In Loving Memory Of Barbara F. Stoddard
October 23,1940 – November 2, 2025
In early November, due to a sudden illness, our beloved mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Although this loss is devastating, it brings loved ones comfort knowing that she has been reunited with the love of her life, and husband of 48 years, who she had missed since his sudden passing in 2008.
Even through dark times, Barbara spread love and joy to all those she encountered in the world. Public service was a calling that Barbara had from early in her career. She was a trustworthy accountant to many, a paralegal for reputable attorneys in Tacoma, as well as a court appointed advocate for children in her retirement.
Barbara filled whatever free time she had with creating memories with her family, teaching herself how create masterful meals, and making the holidays unforgettable for her children and grandchildren. These are the memories and qualities her friends and family will cherish and continue to hold near and dear to their hearts.
Anytime the weather permitted, you could find Barbara outside tending to her many garden beds full of flowers. Her roses were a point of pride, and she looked forward to showing them to anyone who walked past the house when they were in bloom. Even though she isn’t with us anymore, those beautiful flowers she had such pride in will continue to bloom for those who know where to look.
A celebration of her life will be planned once the sun starts shining, the air warm, and flowers are abundant.
Barbara is survived by her three daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her beloved cat Tillie, as well as many friends she has made both on Vashon and at the assisted living home in Tacoma where she lived until her passing. We would like to thank everyone for the kind words and thoughts we have all received these last few weeks. We are all so fortunate to have such amazing people in all of our lives, and are humbled by all the love shown.
