Betty was born in Tacoma on January 28, 1929, to Ella and Henry Carley. She passed away on September 29, 2019, at the age of 90. Betty lived on Vashon since moving here as a young child. She married her childhood sweetie, Dick Beymer, and raised her family here.

Some will remember Betty from her days of running the Burton gas station, boating with the Quartermaster Yacht Club, golfing at the country club, running Weight Watchers, helping at the senior center, or playing bridge with friends. She loved to join activities and meet new people.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 68 years. She is survived by daughters Nancy (Tana) Hamiter and Jo Beymer, son-in-law Robert Johnson, grandchildren Kim McCartney, Drake Neff, Dustine Kimmel, and Damian Johnson. In addition, there is an extended family including a great-great-grandaughter.

At Betty’s request, there will be no service. If you would like to do something to honor Betty, a donation in her name to the Vashon Senior Center would be deeply appreciated.
